Dateless Idiocy from Parliament.uk

If you put something up on the web, you need to give it a date stamp. Not doing so makes you look like Squidoo.

So I’m shocked (no, actually, I am quite surprised!) that parliament.uk thinks it’s acceptable to leave them off. Maybe it means they just don’t care about things like accuracy. I guess it’s easier than simply saying so on their home page. “This is the website of the UK parliament. We don’t care about our content or whether or not you find it helpful.”

Oh, and the Daily Mail do it too. In fact, even worse, they auto-stamp their header bar with today’s date – FTW!

Here’s the reply from the site maintainer:

“We thank you for your suggestion which will be duly considered with the team who publishes this information, hopefully we can arrange for them to make sure out of sate information is unpublished promptly.”

    Wait… what? “Unpublish”?

Just because it’s not current doesn’t mean it’s not valuable! Just put a bloody date stamp on it!
